Rock Springs is also a pleasant town to live in, with plenty of things to do throughout the year and scenic trails to go riding. It's a great place to buy a house, which is why many young professionals flock to the area, and because it's a very culturally diverse community.

Speaking of sweet treats, the ice cream shop Farson Mercantile in Farson sells some of the best ice cream in the state, including ice cream sandwiches! This family-friendly destination has been a favorite among the locals for years.
Bitter Creek Brewing in historic downtown Rock Springs is a top-ranked pub known for legendary microbrews, great food, and exclusive wine selection. The food menu includes a mix of pasta, salads, and pizza paired with an extensive selection of microbrews made in-house.
Things to Do
The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is notable for its vibrant red canyon walls and desert-like green forest. At more than 207,000 acres, this scenic landscape is one of the region's most popular tourist destinations. You can tour the Flaming Gorge Dam, where there is an abundance of water activities to try, including fishing, waterboarding, and tubing.
Enjoy camping and soft dunes at Killpecker Sand Dunes, a scenic spot encompassing North Table Mountain, Black Rock, Spring Butte, and Boar's Tusk. The area is a popular one for ATVing, giving you access to more than 11,000 acres of nature's sandbox to ride your dune buggy, dirt bike, or ATV.
Downtown Rock Springs hosts the annual live music festival Sweetwater Blues n' Brews. Drink delicious beer and listen to music, with several local brewers participating along with notable musical acts. Being a cowboy starts young in the West with the National High School Finals Rodeo held in Gillette at the Camplex Event.
